What a way to celebrate Memorial Day. This morning at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse at 111 North Hill Street, commuters were welcomed back from the holiday weekend with the US Flag flying upside down. A call to the courthouse media relations office was met with surprise. The operator there told LA1 News that they would immediately notify the Sheriff's deputies on duty of the situation. What is not known is whether the display was intentional. Did a rogue employee decide to make a statement about the state of affairs during this election season? We may never know.

Downtown worker Bryan Jeffrey noticed the disgrace from his perch at work. He immediately ran over to the location to notify a deputy, who said he would "fix the issue." After three hours, Jeffrey gave up hope and called LA1 News as a last resort. The public is encouraged to call the media relations office for the courthouse at 213-830-0815.
