The driver of a mid-1990s model Chevrolet full-size truck ran off the road and struck Cindy's Restaurant early this morning at just after 1:00 a.m. Word at the scene this morning on the 1500 block of Colorado Boulevard is, the collision was the result of drunk driving. Harbro Emergency Services & Restoration was hired to provide temporary repair to the facility. Several customers drove up throughout the day expecting to have breakfast, only to witness the front glass doors and first booth nearest the door were gone.

This isn't the first time Cindy's has been the victim of a car versus building collision. On July 15, 2007, the iconic diner was struck at about 3:00 a.m. The entire west end of the restaurant was destroyed in that crash. It came just two days after Pete's Blue Chip restaurant was struck that same year, as well as a collision at Swork coffee shop at the corner of Eagle Rock and Colorado boulevards.
